Neil Revello

Neil Revello has been a GIS Analyst for the City of Portland, Bureau of Environmental Services, TSG - Information Systems and Mapping Division. He is also a registered GISP. He has over 30 years of work experience with Public Agencies leading GIS and IT operations. Neil attended Daniel Freeman Paramedic School and worked as a practicing Paramedic for 5 years in various California communities. He has translated that knowledge into spatial analysis for community health. He holds a degree from George Fox University in Technology Management. Neil is actively involved and is an advocate for Open Source Software, Open Data, and Python movements. He is also long time programmer and evangelist in the use of Python to produce solutions for complex problems through spatial analysis and the use of Open Data. He is passionate about their use in Government and making Government created data open. Neil is a committee member for Regional Conference GIS In Action and served on the organizing committee for FOSS4G 2014. He has interests in geology, conservation and environmental policies, and their effects on society and our communities.
