Intro

Wikipedia DOT org states that

"Strategic planning is an organization's process of defining its strategy, or direction, and making decisions on allocating its resources to pursue this strategy, including its capital and people. Strategic Planning is the formal consideration of an organization's future course. All strategic planning deals with at least one of three key questions: What do we do, for whom do we do it, how do we excel?"

For developing efficient marketing initiatives it is important that they are done in an organized and planned way. The core of a Marketing Strategic Planning is to have clear **vision, mission, and values** within the organization.

But what are mission, visions and values?

Wikipedia.org defines them this way:

  • Vision: Defines where the organization wants to be in the future. It reflects the optimistic view of the organization's future.
  • Mission: Defines where the organization is going now, basically describing the purpose, why this organization exists.
  • Values: Main values protected by the organization during the progression, reflecting the organization's culture and priorities.

What to do?

OSGeo lacks these foundations in the attempt to spread OSGeo around the world.

We need to establish our vision, for we need to know where we are going

We need to know where we are re-evaluating our mission.

Lastly, We need a set of values to follow.

What is our vision?

Is our mission correct?

What are our values?
