Willard Schulmeister is currently a Master’s Candidate in the Geographic Information Science program at the State University of New York at Buffalo and works full time in the insurance services industry as a Regional Field Manager. His responsibilities include: coordinating workflows over a five state region in the US mid-west, managing human resources, training, cost management, and providing interdepartmental technical assistance and support. Willard's past professional work includes GIS analysis, website development and private security and investigation.

Willard is a member of the Tau Sigma National Honors Society, the New York State GIS Association, the American Association of Geographers, the Urban and Regional Information Systems Association and the International Association of Crime Analysts. He is the current Vice President of the Graduate Geography Student Association at SUNY Buffalo and is a founding member of a GIS professional services startup in its early stages in Western NY.

Willard's research interests and studies include: the use of GIS in network and spatial analyses; open source GIS software applications; python, SQL and C# programming languages; geoweb and privacy; internet of things (IOT); and entrepreneurship and small business innovation.
