I work for Dorset County Council's GIS team as a developer. We have been locked into commercial products for a while but have started to move towards open source. Currently using GeoServer as our WMS, with the view to replace our Oracle Spatial installation with postGIS in the near future. We're also looking at replacing MapInfo with Quantum across our organisation although this will not happen quickly...
