A group of interested FOSGIS users did meet on April 29th 2010 in Calgary to get to know each other and talk about forming a local OSGeo chapter. The Group included users and developers with a business and university background. For the notes of this meeting please see: [[Calgary IG]].

On this first meeting we decided to:

'''Monthly meetups''' are first Wednesday of every month - online and IRL at Assembly Coworking Space - and found at [https://www.meetup.com/OSGeo-Alberta-Chapter/ '''Meetup.com/OSGeo-Alberta-Chapter''']

The next meeting will be towards end of May 2010 / beginning of June. A [http://www.doodle.com Doodle] will be used to determine the best date.
