OSGeo Memoranda of Understanding

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) is a common synonym for a letter of intent. MoUs are typically signed by parties with a common interest but so far little organizational contacts. It is intended as a signal to the outside and broader community and can over time become the foundation for closer cooperation.

OSGeo has signed MoUs with several organizations - this page provides an overview of MoUs that are active, in various stages of preparation and those that expired or were replaced by a different type of collaborative relationship.

• MoU between Science and Technology Park, India and OSGeo Foundation

• Association of Geographic Information Laboratories in Europe (AGILE), approved by AGILE and OSGeo boards, waits for hardcopy signature

• Global Spatial Data Infrastructure Association (GSDI), discussed by GSDI and OSGeo boards

MoUs replaced by a different type of collaborative relationship or expired

• Politecnico di Milano, Como Campus, Geomatics Laboratory, IT, replaced by a Geo for All membership on February 2, 2013

• The GIS and Remote Sensing Centre, The University of Girona, Spain. (SIGTE)

• Centre for Geospatial Science (CGS), University of Nottingham, replaced by a Geo for All as a founding member in 2011
