OSGeo Experience and Roles:
Patricia Iribarrem
Patrícia holds a degree in Geography (2014) and a specialization in International Relations and Diplomacy (2022). She began her career in research at Embrapa and education through social initiatives in Brazil. In 2014, she joined HERE Technologies, where over 12 years she grew from field data collection into roles in data analysis, people leadership, and process management, working across the Americas, Europe, and Asia.
Alongside her professional career, she co-founded and co-coordinated the HERE Women’s Initiative in Latin America for seven years, coordinated the mentoring program at Women in GIS Brasil, and co-coordinated GeoEduc’s Data-Driven Culture in GIS course in 2024 and 2025.
In 2026, Patrícia moved to the Netherlands and joined GeoCat BV as a Project Manager, supporting collaboration between businesses and the open-source community through projects such as GeoNetwork and GeoServer. She first attended FOSS4G in 2024 and, in 2026, began supporting the GeoChicas community, contributing to its activities around the FOSS4G event in Hiroshima.
