IRC Meetings

The next meeting takes place on Wednesday 2008-09-10 at 14:00 UTC. Join on (#osgeo). IRC client (select #osgeo from the drop-down list, and type /nick YOURNAME, to set your nickname for use in the channel).

Agenda

Please add items to this agenda as you go. Anybody can add items here, you do not have to be a member of the Marketing Committee.

  • Roll call
  • OSGeo appearance at FOSS4G
    • NEWS: Most of these issues could already be solved via email! Thanks to all involved.
    • OSGeo is currently underrepresented at FOSS4G (Tyler cannot come, several board members had to change plans and cannot come either, etc.).
    • Tim Bowden has volunteered to appear as OSGeo representative, organize the booth and take on Tyler's job during the conference as best he can.
    • To send Tim Bowden as official OSGeo representative to Cape Town Marketing will have to fund travel expenses. This will amount to somewhere around US$ 2k. It will not affect OSGeo's overall budget much as we can spare Tyler's travel expenses.
    • Arnulf Christl motions to nominate Tim Bowden as FOSS4G Event Owner fund the trip.
    • Vote on motion to send Tim Bowden to officially represent OSGeo in Cape Town.
  • Discuss further budget (see Tyler's mail).
    • The budget has been confirmed by the board. it was suggested to not go into detail but set an upper limit.
  • Discuss general Marketing Committee performance
  • Nominate and hopefully vote for new Chair (Arnulf Christl wants to step back)
  • Promote FOSS4G2008 Press Release
  • Release Press Release Board 2008 (Arnulf neeeds some support here, please)
  • Other items (please add)

Open Issues

We have access to a trac system as task-management tool but are curently not actively using it.

Library

It was planned to create an extensive library of presentations, white papers and other materials in the OSGeo Library at http://www.osgeo.org/library. Find more descriptions and links on the Library Page of this Wiki and get in contact through the Marketing Mailing List if you need anything that you cannot find in the library.
