=== Rooms ===

=== Rooms ===
We have three rooms each day at the Convention Center: E146, E147, & E148. These rooms are dedicated spaces so BoF to your heart's content! Default room configuration will be long tables arranged a U-shape (although "contents may settle while BoF'ing"). The room capacities stated below are based off of that U configuration. We'll try to have some additional chairs available as well.
+
We have available the three rooms of the conference (VS9, V08, V2.12) from 8 am up to 8 pm.

+
Therefore the BOFs can be there when there are not sessions.
<br/>

Technically the Exhibit Hall has room too. It will be arranged ballroom style with round tables. However, keep in mind it is a large, open, and public space. As such, it can't really be reserved, and is probably not ideal for a formal meeting (i.e. it could be noisy). In a nut shell, use at your own risk.

''[[Arnulf Christl]] is sorry that he cannot come (already committed to other BoF). FYI: The FOSSGIS Germany OSGeo Local Chapter is considering to apply for FOSS4G 2016 and we are interested in learning what the outcome of this meeting is. Some coordination between FOSS4G and FOSS4G-Europe would be helpful in case that FOSS4G comes comes to Europe (as currently planned) in 2016. Feel free to ping us later on...''

In JavaScript land, for webmapping use, you only heard about OpenLayers and Leaflet, but the ecosystem is strongly evolving. Let's see and share our knowledge and experience(s) about the other available libraries, the trends, the new tools that can change both your web map conception and your development practices.

Introduction

Birds of a Feather (BoF) sessions are unstructured timeslots where people can self-organise themselves to discuss topics of interest.

General Information

During the FOSS4G Europe 2015 conference in Como, Italy, there will be a number of spaces for people to hold Birds of a Feather sessions.

The 1-hour time blocks outlined below are just general guidelines. Adjust as needed. For reference, an overview of the FOSS4G schedule is available at http://europe.foss4g.org/2015/Program.

GIS and JavaScript (JS), the revolution on the client side?

Description:

In JavaScript land, for webmapping use, you only heard about OpenLayers and Leaflet, but the ecosystem is strongly evolving. Let's see and share our knowledge and experience(s) about the other available libraries, the trends, the new tools that can change both your web map conception and your development practices.

We planned to exchange about

  • libraries
  • tools like Grunt/Gulp/Browserify + PhantomJS/SlimeJS
  • server side JS (directly or influence on "browsers" land)
  • ...

When/Where: Room V09 13h-14h

Who is coming:

Goals would be:

  • to establish a list for all JS related things for Geo excluding OpenLayers and Leaflet "pure" questions. At the moment, dedicated lists exist for OpenLayers, Leaflet and Ows.js.
  • to start to make a list of software libraries for geo depending of goals.

At it's a late improvised session, we are open to any input we surely missed. So, come to discuss!!
