I am Chetan Mahajan, a grad student in GeoComputational Systems and IoT Research Group, at Centre of Studies in Resources Engineering, IIT Bombay. I will be contributing to istSOSμ support for STAC as a part of GSoC 2024. +
I am an employee at Regional Center of Geo-Informatics and Space Technology, Lower Northern Region, Naresuan University (GISTNU) and I also studying a master degree of Geographic Information Science (GISci) at Naresuan University, Thailand. I studing at Asst.Prof.Dr.Sittichai Choosumrong laboratory. Regarding my working at GISTDA@NU and my topic on my master degree is I am using FOSS4G with my works and my research. Belong to my works at GISTDA@NU, I contribute FOSS4G by giving workshop on QGIS, Openlayers etc. and many participants were attended.
Belong to my study, I doing research based on Open Source Software using FOSS4G, Openlayers, MapServer ,GeoServer, pgRouting, GRASS, ZOO-Project etc.
I have created QGIS community group in Thailand with more than 4,500 members are joining. We usually promote OSGeo in Thailand not only giving workshop but also conducting FOSS4G Thailand conference as a committee member.
Sometime I used to have skype meeting with Prof.Venkatesh Raghavan laboratory at Osaka City University (OCU) in Japan to discusses and share about my works and OCU student works.

I also used to attend FOSS4G Thailand on December 2015 and now I am focusing only using FOSS4G on my works because FOSS4G is a very powerful tools for my project. +

I belong to several groups that support the development of FOSS4G (Geoinquietos Madrid, AESIG as vocal y QGIS España Association as treasurer) and I attempt to contribute to the use of free GIS and creation of Open Databases, as well as participation in humanitarian mapping events or local development.
In the last years, I have attended several national events (SIGLibre and Geocamp) and also international ones (FOSS4G and FOSS4G EU) all ones related to Open Sources and Free GIS. Carlos is graduated in Geology from Rio de Janeiro State University (UERJ), in 2005, Post Graduated in Basin Analysis and Mobile Belts from UERJ, with a Master’s Degree in Applied Geophysics (2008) and PhD in Petrology and Geochemistry (2012).
He has 15 years of experience in using FOSS4G, acquired and applied at the Environmental and Water Resources Institute (IEMA/ES), from Espírito Santo State and at the Geological Survey of Brazil (SGB/CPRM).
Carlos is currently one of the SGB/CPRM’s representatives at Spatial Data Infrastructure of Brazil (INDE) and member of Technical Implementation Group (TIG) of OneGeology. He is also leader of the Data Science Nucleus (NDS) of the SGB/CPRM.
He is actually working in research and development of new and disruptive technologies, in addition to proposing out-of-the-box solutions for internal geoscientific problems and those of partner institutions, with outstanding performance as an architect, developer, mediator and consultant in Spatial Data Infrastructures, desktop, server and mobile GIS, remote sensing, geographic database systems and OGC/ISO 19100 Series standards.
He is also a specialist in Python, PHP and Javascript, geospatial APIs and Data Analytics – Including with training given to SGB/CPRM, IBGE and Embrapa’s employees. +
I am a freelance web developer, graphic designer and GIS specialist under the pseudonym CodeMacabre, and a learning technologist at the School of Geography and Planning at Cardiff University. I have a strong interest in web mapping, procedural generation and experimental interaction systems and I am an open-source and open data advocate. +
Cristian has been contributing to different FOSS4G projects and events from the beginning of his Developer career. He is a member of Geoinquietos Argentina and a geomatics and OSS enthusiast. He participated in the organization of the FOSS4G-AR Conferences in 2016 and 2017 and leaded the IT team of the SDI of Argentina for six years. Currently, he is also an IT Director and works for the SDI of Formosa Province, Argentina. +
Cristina is a Technical Engineer in Topography. She started using gvSIG in 2010 and since then she has been a prominent user in many OsGeo software: qGIS, OpenLayers, Leaflet, GeoNetwork, GeoServer, postGIS,... She is an active OSM user since 2014.
Cristina is also part of the GeoInquietos group in Sevilla and has participated and organizaed many local and regional geo events, usually related to foss and open data like mapping parties.

Daniele is a young enthusiastic developer devoted to open source Geospatial. He successfully contributed to the GRASS and istSOS community. He developed GIS tools for flood risk, landslide susceptibility and glacier retreat analysis and he has been working on the implementation of the istSOS software. In addition, he experienced the web platforms development using the well-known Javascript libraries (Leaflet, Openlayer) and different OGC compliant open source software for data and map sharing. +

I have been a supporter of OpenSource software for Geomatics for long. I am working at IGN (French National Mapping Agency) and promotes openness and free software internally (e.g., at IGN's school, namely ENSG -- École Nationale des Sciences Géographiques, Géomatique --) and externally (past contributor to Geoserver, french translations, committer to PROJ.4 and GDAL, user of many OSS). Doug Newcomb has a BS and MA in Geography and is an advocate of Free and Open Source Software (FOSS) in general and geospatial software specifically. Joana is a software developer, data scientist and strategist in the field of geospatial information and technologies. She has worked in different environments, ranging from academia to industry, and has always advocated for FOSS in general, and FOSS4G in particular. When working at the United Nations, she led the migration of a code base, from proprietary technologies to FOSS, and refactored the FAO GIS course, to take advantage of FOSS4G. Joana uses a myriad of FOSS4G technologies on her daily work and during her free time, and has occasionally contributed to projects such as QGIS, or GeoNetwork. She joined the local chapters of the countries where she lived (e.g.: UK, Spain) and currently she is serving as a board member at the Portuguese Local chapter. +
Joana is a software engineer with more than fifteen years of experience, with a sound expertise in the field of geospatial tech and analytics. After acquiring a PhD in Geographic Information Systems, at the University College of London (2007), her drive to solve real-world problems has led her to SMEs, an international organization, a research foundation and a start-up. Joana has been very much involved in the Free and Open Source Software community, in particular in what concerns geospatial technologies, standards and data. This has led her to become a charter member of the Open Geospatial Foundation (OSGeo) in 2017, and the vice-president of the Portuguese chapter of OSGeo. During 2017 she also took a leading role at the board of the Global Spatial Data Infrastructure Association (GSDI), as a board director of the Industry Advisory Council.
Joana is the founder of ByteRoad, an R&D company in the field of spatial data infrastructures and leads Developer Relations at OGC. She is also a reviewer for the European Commission, and has been deeply involved in education, teaching the next generation of full-stack developers and data analysts. +

I have a personal philosophy – “I innovate and provide solutions, Not problems”.
It's been over 20 years working in the Pacific Islands region, specializing in ICTs and Geo-spatial Solutions, and offering my skills and talents to support the building of FOSS solutions across the Pacific. Am also a Distributed Ledger Technologies (DLTs) as in Blockchain and Hashgraph enthusiast. Working towards integration DLTs and Geospatial Systems. +
I have loved maps since I was gifted a Dorling Kindersley World Atlas as a child. Over time that interest evolved and was satiated through travel and learning about other cultures, but the maps themselves remained elusive. It was only when I joined Mapillary in 2015 that I was able to explore my interest in maps and geospatial further, initially through OpenStreetMap, and later through QGIS. Both projects have opened my eyes to the world of maps and open source, but more important to me are the practical applications of these tools. Seeing the connection between maps of cycle infrastructure in Ottawa and government initiatives to reduce fatalities is one such example, but I have been fortunate to play a small part in others such as flood resilience, wheelchair accessibility, and government asset management programs. All of these projects demonstrated to me the powerful insights geospatial tools can provide, and the sheer capability and talent within the OSGeo community.
Since returning to Australia in December 2016, I have enjoyed engaging with the local communities of the region, and working together with others to build a strong regional geospatial community. In 2018 we put together the first FOSS4G SotM Oceania which was an overwhelming success with 250 people attending. Building upon this, we have created the entity OSGeo Oceania to support future conferences, improve participation, and elicit new perspectives. I led sponsorship efforts for FOSS4G SotM Oceania 2019 in Wellington, New Zealand and am happy to say the conference was a wonderful continuation from the prior year with record sponsorship that helps ensure the sustainability of OSGeo Oceania in the years to come.
My efforts are currently focused on the Membership Working Group so that we can increase the diversity within the organisation while getting more people involved.

Hello there! I am a sophomore in Texas and I’m thrilled to be working with OSGeo and support open source.
I’ve always been an extremely avid learner of geography and cartography. Ever since I was young, I would map out locations for fun, be it of my house, in my neighborhood, or of expansive video game worlds. My interest in maps lies in their raw power and how they are able to communicate mountains of information in a streamlined, visual medium. Their applications are infinite, and I love their functionality for the improvement of lives around the world (e.g. with resource distribution and sustainable development).
I have very basic knowledge of Java, Javascript, and html, and I participated in GitHub’s Hacktoberfest 2017 for open source projects.
I play the cello and piano, fluently speak 2 languages, and partake in math and world affairs competitions. My passion is volunteering to help youth, as I spend time as a general volunteer at a nature and science museum and with multiple youth-run organizations that work for the betterment of education and wellbeing of children. +

Francesco Frassinelli has been active in free software communities since 2004, and in OpenStreetMap since 2008; he has been one of the founders and officers of the student association PoliMappers in Politecnico di Milano, where he obtained an MSc degree in Geoinformatics Engineering with a thesis on OpenStreetMap temporal accuracy and up-to-dateness. He works as coordinator for environmental data at the Norwegian Institute for Nature Research.
He has 10+ year of experience as a software developer, and more recently he became a member of both GeoNode and CKAN development teams, as well as a contributor to the Geopaparazzi project. He is active on GitHub, where it contributes to the OSM Italy and HOT tasking manager repositories as well, among others. Gabriele Prestifilippo obtained a B.Sc. degree in Computer Engineering at Università degli Studi di Catania in 2014. In 2016 he obtained a M.Sc. in Computer Science and Engineering at Politecnico di Milano with a thesis on Geographic Information Systems (GIS), creating a web application to visualize and analyze multidimensional datasets in more than three dimensions. Gildas is a lecturer and researcher at Université d'Abomey-Calavi, more precisely in the Department of Geography and Spatial planning in Benin. His main courses are related to GIS, mapping and spatial analysis mostly using free GIS software. He previously worked at African Regional Institute for Geospatial Science and Technology (AFRIGIST) for two years. During his time there, he helped introduce free GIS software in the students' curricula. He took part to different scientific events focused on GIS and was speaker at first edition of BeOpenGIS in 2014. Luigi Pirelli is a Computer Science Designer and Developer with several years of experience in Earth Observation Systems and Ground Station segment. He worked with ESA main contractors as Telespazio and Advanced Computer Systems (ACS), covering technical roles in system design, software engineering, software development, systems integration and test.
During last years started to contribute to the Italian Geographic Free Software community adding code to the the GRASS and QGIS project and resulting founder of the GFOSS Italian Local Chapter.

Greg is an open source and open data advocate. Though he started as a statistical consultant and developer (using FOSS like Debian, R, etc), he ended up in the geo business. Now he consults clients on several areas regarding geodata - mostly within the use of geodata and GIS at public admin clients.
